Kingfisher Class
Welcome to Kingfisher Class
Kingfisher Class
Kingfisher Class is taught by Mrs Rouse on Monday and Tuesday and Ms Warwick from Wednesday to Friday.
As part of our wellbeing curriculum, our Year 3 and 4 pupils are developing the important quality of being RESPECTFUL. We encourage children to show kindness, consideration and responsibility in all aspects of school life, helping them to grow into well-rounded, respectful individuals.
Each day begins with a strong focus on English and Maths, with regular opportunities to revisit and consolidate key skills. This helps to build confidence and secure strong foundations for learning.
Across the curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on developing pupils’ oracy skills. Children are given regular opportunities to discuss their ideas, explain their reasoning, present their learning and listen thoughtfully to others. This supports them in becoming confident communicators and thoughtful learners.
In the afternoons, children broaden and apply their learning across a wide range of subjects, including:
- Science
- Geography or History
- Art or Design & Technology (DT)
- Music
- Religious Education (RE)
- Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)
- French
- Physical Education (PE)
We aim to provide a rich and engaging curriculum that supports both academic progress and personal development, enabling every child to flourish both academically and socially.
Supporting your child at home:
Parents and carers play a vital role in supporting children’s learning at home. We encourage pupils to read daily, as regular reading builds fluency, vocabulary and understanding across the curriculum. Engaging positively with homework helps to reinforce learning from the classroom and develop independence and responsibility. We also recommend that children regularly use Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) to practise their times tables, as quick recall of multiplication facts is essential for confidence and success in Maths. Working together between home and school helps every child to make strong progress
