The Artsmark award is a creative quality standard for schools which is accredited by Arts Council England and which helps schools to develop and celebrate their commitment to arts and cultural education for all children.

At Howard Community Academy, we believe that the arts are a powerful tool to support the development of creativity, expression, language, and literacy and, since beginning our Artsmark journey, we have embarked on some exciting projects working with arts partners locally.

Our journey has involved our working with the Royal Ballet, developing the use of film through an Into Film club and partnering with the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds to experience the power of the performing arts to enable and inspire our young people. Our staff have also been involved in high quality professional development to support our amazing young people on this exciting journey.
